After a 10 year break? trying to remember when my wagon got Tboned and sold. I have fought the fun car itch. Raced some Miatas for a bit (seriously fun cars to drive) a saturn SC1 because it was free and a 1.8 Turbo golf still. the golf really kicked it off again having a car that is kinda fun to drive made me miss loving a car and then a friend had some beers and bought a dirt fish weekend rally class. now hes registered for the 23 season of NW Rally Cross and im going to be late to the season but should be joining.
So after a lot of searching and forgetting these cars are getting old and hard to find I finally found a sad sad 1998 GC4 that is missing half the interior. door cards are swaped to pre 97 and not wired in. half of the dash has been spray painted white and falling off. no carpet no rear bumper and some shotty body work from a light accident on the rear driver corner. bald tires that are two big and rub on the fenders. and a broken windshield so i knew it wasn't going to go to a good home
the GOOD
Clean title
running and driving
no fender arch rust
no rocker panel rust
can't find any front end damage
at 235k miles the motor runs so smooth i can't believe it
some how its a NON ABS car? didn't know you could get those in 98 but no pump and single stage brake booster and brake lines don't look touched
already converted rear disk
5 speed
no aftermarket parts in the engine bay and full stock exhaust
spare 2.2 with single port heads
spare SOHC duel port heads
pre 97 dash
set of forester struts and springs
a trailer hitch
and a pile of other crap thats 98% trash
and its was all 900 bucks!!!
So with the interior is crap shape and body damage i don't feel bad finishing gutting it and building a rally cross car.
i will start a part out thread for the interior/A/C/Seats blah blah blah all cheap to free because i would much rather see these parts go to a forum member and keeping these cars on the road as long as possible
