Yeah, the script for the search page is apparently the wrong one. I have been communicating with vBulletin and they recommended an upgrade to the most current version. Well, I tried that a while ago but it failed. So I tried it again but the process seems to be very messed up (as in I have to drop a bunch of columns from the tables, and it's very cumbersome process due to the way the upgrade works) so I put in another support request.
Once I get it upgraded it should work. Basically, what is normally a ten minute upgrade took me over an hour before I gave up. I should have it fixed soon - sorry for the inconveniece!
