will it work, i can get some cobb spicy cams for free, but they are for a 2.5 SOHC, and i have a SOHC single port 2.2. wanted to know if they work

They work.
You'll want to port the crap out of the exhaust side to make use of the cam profile...... Intake ports seem to be identical between the EJ22 and EJ25 (phase II). The cams drop in and physically work the valves just like they belong there. How will it run on the road?....I dunno. Do it and post results!
