So I just finished swapping my motor after it blew it's a 06 legacy gt spec b it runs but not well. I unplugged both the injectors and coil packs and the only ones that don't change anything are the passenger side but I know it's getting fuel because it backfires at idle I don't think it's the coils as I already replaced those about a year ago and I also did new spark plugs with the motor injectors are new as well from about 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Timing belt off, no or little compession, ecm, injector/coils harness broken tabs, or broken plugs when installef, not gapped correctly.
example how you did your swap?
Straight swap already went through the harness. Plugs are the same gap on both sides and new. Coil packs are fairly new as well as injectors doesn't shake too bad or nearly at all or knock in the slightest. the only sign it's missing is the backfire out the exhaust.

one side of the coil packs swaped?

When i did my WRX motor swap years ago i plugged my coils in backwards on passanger side backwards and it would run backfire.

check wiring to see they are easy to flip flop

I was told that was a possibility but with my harness it has a short and a long side on the coilpacks so you would have to stretch the harness and really try to plug it in backwards.

not left right. front to back so 1/3 or 2/4

My WRX it took no effort they were equal length.

maybe they arn't equal anymore (that would be nice)

Yeah could still have the plugs on 1 and 3 mixed, it's still possible. If it's back firing while running, you are getting some fuel and some spark, just out of timing somehow or the car thinks its out of timing. Have you checked the ocv's?

If your referring to the open circuit voltage I am currently unable to check that but as far as swapping the plugs I've checked it multiple times now as that is what everyone is recommending but the plug for 3 won't reach to 1 as the harness is different lengths. i did swap the coil packs from side to side to see if it wasn't sending out enough spark so it's not the coil packs

Nah, oil control valve haha sorry. They can get clogged with debris and cause drivability issues. You said timing is good right?
