Removed Muffler

Today I had a pipe bent to replace my muffler, and it sounds great. It was runnng worse than with the stock exhaust, but I reset the ECU and it runs ALOT better. I have to get some pulleys soon though. This is getting expensive, in the past 2 months I've bought:
Ganz CAI
20MM Rear Sway
Kartboy Shifter
PROECM Chip
K&N Filter
Clear Sidemarkers
NGK Plugs
Mobil-1 Oil with Bosch Filter

So, are you building the car up for rally-x or auto-x, or just to do it? Sounds like it's coming along quite nicely. Now, you said the car sounds good with the straight pipe, but how loud is it? Is it a lot louder than the stock, and what is the sound level inside the car like now?
It sounds really good with the windows down, but when the windows are up, its not too loud.. Until I get a Midpipe and High Flow cat, I dont know how loud its going to be.
When we were doing an exhuast on Rob's L we fired it up with just a header on. It sounded alright. It wasn't too loud and it sounded respectable. We were half tempted to keep it that way.
Mine is basically a straightpipe with just a Monza twin tip at the end. I'm tired of ringing ears and passengers who would "rather they drive".

It's cool for a while, but you may find that a little silence is better than throbbing ears.
I myself love the sound of a pissed of Subaru. Nothing better than pulling up to a Honda and reving the engine. :) I also have done the open header, very loud. Puckaveli, when you started with open headers, were they aftermarket or stock?? I have the Borla header and it was so loud you had to yell for the person in the passenger seat to hear you at WOT. It was great. The only problem with running open headers is that it is very lethal. Very potent stench. When running open headers make sure you have the most possible circulation going through the car or you WILL get light headed. :) As for running the car without exhaust, it is very nice and loud. The only problem with doing that on my car is that I have no cats and no backpressure with a muffer, when the muffler is removed I have absolutly no low end, but very very very nice high end. Bring the noise!! :)

I had an A3 racing muffler on before I got my Stromung... it had so much bass it almost drowned out my sub... sounded great but it'd start to give me headahces :( Now for the dumbass in me to ask a question... what are open headers? :)

Open headers are headers with no cat, midpipe, or Muffler
