so i have a 99 wagon 2.2 N/A and its been leaking oil from the rear main. well at least thats where it seems. how hard to replace and could it be something else? its coming from between trans and engine area.

It's as hard as removing the transmission, or removing the engine, so you can get to the rear of the engine itself. I've never removed a transmission by itself, but removing the engine is actually pretty easy.

As for what it could be, it could be either the rear main, or more likely it is the air/oil separator plate:

will a clogged pcv valve or anything cause to much pressure and make it leak? the plate fro oil air seperator

Possibly, not really to sure on that. I don't really know how much gas pressure builds up inside the crankcase.

Either way, if it's leaking it's just gonna continue to leak until you reseal it.

You need a clutch at this point anyway (if its never had one)

Might as well kill as many birds as you can

Kill two stones with one bird and do ALL THE MAINTENANCE!

-clutch kit
-rear main seal
-valve cover gaskets
-ao separator plate
-paint the intake manifold victoria's secret pink
-etc.
