My V2 STi swap only has a regular ECU. I plan to chip it for US gas no problem as well as tune it.

Yours is much cooler with the STi spec logo. Shit some sweet wall art if anything.
Werd, I didn't want to sound like a f*boy lolol but I felt the same. How did your car run on that factory ECU? Noticeably smoother, or any more aggressive, than let's say a slightly modded non-STi WRX? I figure the years gap could be a decent comparison, though I also don't know how aggressive your own build may have been.

sub’d for impending awesomeness. nice work so far!
Thanks, good man!! I appreciate the support! I'll try my best, haha. To hit my target, the build is as important to me to contribute back to the community, as it is receiving its resources.! ::sniff-sniff:: lolol

Peace out, boy scout..! Harnesses out on their way to do that Fusion Dance haha. :blol:

Also got my hands on a donor 'Rex motor, I'll need a few components for the swapperoo, this one had a slight rod knock. Anyone need heads, a block, etc, lmk..! The Maxi-Pad played low-rider for the day, haha.

Aaaaaaand, out she comes.. Not sure when I'll break her down.. Kinda feel like it's a waste, like I want to refreshen her & throw her into a blown 'Rex, so it can live again. :'(

Lolol I'm gonna say "nyet" lol b/c if it comes down to that, and I swap the roofs, I'd go lightweight carbon & eliminate the the sunroof all-together. But to keep it real with ya, that's a loooong ways off, although I do intend on lightening things, that'll be in the bodywork phase.. & I'd have to score the roof first. That, and against "true" RA-spec, I don't plan on eliminating amenities such as power windows, & other things I'm planning on adding ? I don't intend on just claiming it's an RA for kicks and giggles, even though it's just the drivetrain, I do plan on keeping her light.. she's no 3000GT LOL

Or RHD firewall? <img src="http://www.rs25.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />
Ya.... Naw. Lolol. That's a lot of work and while I give props to people who do it, that's not really my thing. If I wanted a right hand drive car, I would just import one. Part of the point of the build is to rectify the obscurity we had gotten as our so-called top of the line Impreza haha

Nothing much new here... '04 STi rack had arrived. I heard it's not often one pops up, so I jumped at an opportunity that had arisen. Partially did such so when I bolt up the crossmember, the rack would be ready to go. Gotta do as the maestro Breel had recommended & get the Whiteline bushings go with them.

Bue Car, you were always in my conscious.. "Cut & weld all the things". (Post #22) ?

Custom merged wiring harness came in the other day.. Super stoked!! (yes, I actually made that 'troll face' when I had seen it haha) Apologies for the attachment, photobucket seems to somehow got weirder to upload and I couldn't attach the image like I had done with others :screwy:  :curse: I feel all merged harnesses are custom, but I've been working out some special additions to my first, the folks at iWire have been super communicative and patient with all my n00b questions and requests haha. More to come later..! :projectsti.com:

Can’t wait for the finished product
werd, keeping that image in my mind keeps the flame under my rear, lol. the thread and end project isnt just for myself, but for like-minded folks who want to witness the transformation. We go though our daily lives with whatever b/s we all have.. popping a squat and enjoying some car porn is a nice imaginary getaway, even if temporary. Sharing this is my way of giving back :blol:

I have upcoming priorities that will take me away from the project for a little bit, but by no means a thing that will deter me from completing the 'ol shire. getting this harness merge was a HUUUUGE step, it is one of those things I wouldn't be doing on my own and I can say with confidence knowing the electronics are handled by professionals, that things will get done right. :naughty:

Allow me to geek out for a sec, a little switch porn teaser for those out there with the fetish, haha. It will be some time before I can actually install and position things correctly (plz forgive the dirty panels and ill-positioned switches) but seeing these switches on the panels themselves brings a smile to my soul :gaga: I mentioned it before, I am out to right the wrongs that our market had gotten shafted out of, and hopefully in a clean manner

intercooler sprayer switch on its way, it'll snuggle itself into that dead switch location. Since I won't be running a JDM ECU, I lose the "auto" function.. so I wont need the "auto" switch. (I like the "I/C" lettering a little better, anyway haha) I'm ok with manually cycling the system, I'd play with it whenever I think heat soak days are a probability

from factory USDM plain-Jane center...

to control city, haha. I don't know how some people can be ok without DCCD, I love the concept of the driver being selective as to how and where their power is applied, and changing their driving style to match that. It seems so involved.. in the same as to why we all love manuals.. having that mechanical connection to our love machines haha

Good luck on your build! First I’m seeing it. I had a V2 Type RA when i lived in Japan and i loved it so much i sold my ‘07 and brought the RA back in pieces to rebuild. I look forward to seeing your progress and finished product.

Thanks a lot, man!!! I'm glad you had continued her, was it a WRX RA, or a WRX STiType RA? Coupe, or 4 door? I'd love to hear how those gears were, she must've boogied..!!
