Got a set of Megan track series coilovers for 02+ wrx. I just read up (b/c the rears won't alingn) and found out that the rear top hats need to be swapped out for gc8 tophats? Had Cusco zero1 coilovers from an 02 wrx and those rears installed with zero issues. Is that normal? Should I use the top hats from the Cusco Zero1 or from stock ones? Also, "stock" shocks/struts were from an 04 WRX and again no install issues. Is this only a thing with megan? Any and all help is appreciated.

I think I wanna use the stock rear tophats from my stock 04 wrx shocks/struts. Will they fit with no issues or do I NEED megan street series tophats for gc8?

I'm not sure how you got WRX tophats to fit on the rear since the bolt pattern is slightly different. Give it a try... maybe someone drilled an extra hole in the strut tower?

I guess the previous owner used RS top hats or something. It's still weird that the used Cusco zero1 came off of an 02 and fit my 99 with no issues. Can GC8 fit on 02-03 but not vise versa?



Anyway, the cusco and stock tophats won't fit. Does anyone know where I can buy Megan rear tophats? thanks.

yep, rears are different.

my friend is using wrx coilovers with gc8 rear top hats. you can use the cusco one most likely or the stock one. he is using stock top hat

The Cuscos and the OEM tophats looked like they wouldn't bolt onto the Megan struts so I didn't even try to swap hats. I emailed Megan about buying tophats only. I hope they sell tophats only, if they don't I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with these coilovers. Well, guess that'll teach me to buy without reasearching <shrug> I was just hoping it wouldn't be a $900 lesson.
