Questions about EJ20T

Hi there everybody. I am thinking about putting a EJ20T in my MY00 rs. I was wondering if the EJ20T has the same mounting hardware as the EJ25? I am also wondering how much I could get (realistictly) for my EJ25. And also which is the best engine management in your oppinion? Is it really hard to pass emisions with a new engine? Thanks for your time!!

The new EJ20T will fit in fine. Which year EJ20T are you talking about. there have been many different configurations. Not sure how much you can get for your EJ25. Mine is just sitting in my garage collecting dust.

The best engine management is the one people tell you they are running. I like the Wolf 3D v4.0, MoTec, and of course the TEC-II.

if you put in a USDM ej20 it will definitely pass emissions. also, if it's the 2002 ej20, the IC will hit the firewall due to our smaller engine bay.
why not get a SRI engine

There is aplace around here (ontario canada) that can get a STi engine and transmision. Your cost would be 6000$ canadain which is just a little over 4000 us funds (lucky basterds down there)

so if u are going to upgrade, dam man, get the sti engine ehhehehehhe.-

I well try and fin / post the web page asap
found it

these guys are noth american rally guys and seam to be prity good.

they have changed things since I have last visited tho
Thank you very much for the link!! And that you for the replies!
Depending on condition, the used ej25 would be worth around 1500-1800. If you do go with a US spec ej20t and the matching ecu, it will be 50 state emissions legal, as long as you use all the emissions parts.
Will a 2002 model engine work in the 2.5rs or not? Thanks
yeah it will work with a little work :p it fits in there fine but getting the exhaust to work takes a but of altering. other than that, the engine is a good swap option.

Hmm does the 02rs have the same problem with intercoolers? Err let me refraze that...if I got a ej20t and put it in will the intercooler hit my firewall? I am brain farting because I am thinking I could use a wrx intercooler with my custom rs-t setup I am buildin if it fits...Hmmm (sorry for jumping the thread...just pm me the answer if ya guys got one so i am not hjacking)
it's a good question and even thouhg i'm not 100% sure, i'd say it would fit being that both cars are based on the same GD chasis.
Guys, search by name for a guy named 63Alpine on i-club, and you will see what it takes to get that stupid U.S. spec WRX intercooler into our RS engine bays. I have been doing a lot of research on this, and it just doesn't seem economical. First, you must re-route your AC lines unless you want to remove it completely. You must shave some of the top part of the intercooler, shorten your throttle body inlet, and do some other stuff i can't remember. All I know is that all the custom work that must be done (unless you do it yourself) could potentially be expensive.

Probably be better to just get an older STI intercooler or a front mount..

yes it will fit dimension wise...but if you were to want to use the EJ25 it most likley won't clear cause of the throttle body angle.
