So I painted my brake calipers about 2 1/2 years ago and now they are chipping and cracking. It doesn't look so hot so I decided to get the paint off with a wire brush bit on a drill. I did the back calipers today and got as much paint as I could off of them. Looks better than before but I think I will use a dremel bit to get the small stuff.

What I want to know is will the calipers rust now after I took the paint off of them? I am not sure if I want to re-paint them but if they will rust then I will be forced to do it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

If they are stock calipers they will rust. Not really bad but in areas, and not as bad as the rotors. I think the winter salt will cause the worst damage. You'll get that white crud on there. I would re-paint them. If you don't want it to be visible paint them flat black. I did mine and you can't even tell they're in there.
