I need to pull my ej255 out. On the intercooler bracket on the passenger side the bolt towards the middle of the block was snapped off by the previous owner. Will it be alright to using the bracket to lift the motor out when it's only being hold on by one bolt?

Is it unpossible to extract the broken fastener and replace it? You gotta do what you gotta do to get the motor out, but I'd try to get a bolt in that second hole if at all possible.

It's almost dead center of the engine. I don't feel very comfortable drilling it out while the engine is in the car.

I always lift my motors out using the Intake manifold bolts and one of these guys.

Sorry! Something went wrong!

I've also done it with just a chain with no issues.
Would it be fine using the bracket with the one bolt? I'm trying to drill it out to tap it but it looks like I'm going off center. This is the reason why I didn't want to drill it out on the car.

Yes. Those bolts are way more robust than the ones that hold the intake manifold on. The whole longblock weighs about 200 pounds. You could probably lift the entire engine with that one bolt.

Why you are so focused on using that bolt or why you're so afraid to drill it out in the vehicle is confusing to me.

Use one intake manifold bolt on each side and be done with it.

If you don't want to do that, just use the 12mm bolt up by the bell housing rubber plug up top and the ac compressor hole by the block seam.

I answered the question about drilling it out on the post you replied to. I tried drilling it but went off center because I couldn't reach see it well enough. I'm short. As for the intake manifold, the chain I bought to do this doesn't have an L shape to bolt to it and I don't have funds to buy more tools or gasket. All I have left is the for the wire merge.

Dude, intake manifold gaskets are like $5. If you're too broke to buy them then use literally ANY bolt that screws into the block or heads. Just pick a couple.

You don't need fancy L shaped brackets. You can slam a bolt through link of chain.

What length bolt would I need to use the bell housing.

One that engages more than just a few threads, but one that doesn't bottom out the hole before making the chain tight.
