oh yeah?
I am playing the waiting game again...
So not much progress as of yet.

I am waiting on a 2004 sti shortblock to come in the mail (25k miles on it). The old bare block was pretty much completely shit on! Head stud threads were destroyed and helicoils and timeserts failed. So need a new bareblock to start again with.

I am then going to swap out all the parts from the old block to the new one. Then ill be good to go.

When I start the rebuild, ill post a ton of pics, dont worry...

Suby car porn is coming!

Well....
got the shortblock yesterday.
Had some things today to do so was only able to work for half an hour...
Anyways...here's an update:

2004 2.5L Sti shortblock (24k miles)
Came out of a wrecked car. Was sitting for a year in a shed (hence the rust)
Going to finish dissassembling it tonight and get it to the machine shop in the AM.

So i'm going to have a few things for sale:
- 4 x ej257 Pistons (24k miles)
- 4 x Ej257 Rods (24k miles)
- 1 x EJ257 Crank (24k miles)

Your car looks great good job. But I noticed when you were assembling the rotating assembly you put assembly lube on the main BEFORE the bearings. The assembly lube does not go there there is no moving part there, that can cause a spun bearing, One of the guys I worked with at a benz dealer did that and caused a spun bearing at start up. The assembly lube goes on the bearing surface that contacts the crank not the block. Hopefully you havent put your new block together yet. good luck I am thinkin to use the sohc heads on my build too

Got the bare block back yesterday from the machine shop.
Still waiting on ACL race main bearings to come in monday.
Hope to have this thing up and running by the end of next week.

Nice and clean compared to what it used to be!

Got my main bearings really late today and threw down a little time into puting the block back together.

I have everything I need to finish my build. Thank G-d. Took long enough!!!

Hope to have her running by this weekend.

update

Worked a little on the block tonight...

Got the oil pump, water pump, oil tube, oil pan, oil cooler, thermostat, and a little more done.

Heads tomorrow

Actually broke this small fitting the connects my oil supply to my oil feed line and to the oil pressure sensor.
Does anyone know the proper name for this part? Going to look on summit and hope to get lucky.
I know it is a t-fitting, but not surewhere to get it from.

PICS:
