I have a 01 2.5 rs with an automatic trans, and it accelerates painfully slow. I have measured the 0-60 and it is consistently around 9.8 seconds, and I’m pretty sure it should be around the low 8s. I was going to do a full tuneup on it (spark plugs, wires, etc) but what else could possibly be causing this and what are some solutions?
Honestly it can be a huge variety of factors with the little information you've provided. Anywhere from the brake calipers sticking all the way up to an electrical issue or sensor malfunction.
1. bad plugs / wires
2. bad fuel
3. bad timing
4. bad / clogged injectors
5. transmission slipping
6. clogged fuel line / filter
and that's just to name a few things
