Maan I wouldn't use that scooby of the week if you're trying to remind him why he liked the car... It fits right in with the riced out Hondas on the Mother's car show.
The 1st gen Impreza came from the factory with some of the cleanest lines of any car available. Early 90's Sentra SE-Rs are also really clean. You can ruin any car with those cartoon body kits.
Bone stock, the RS isn't a fast car. It isn't an extremely agile car either. But with a few hundred in minor upgrades (sway bar, tires) they handle very well, considering the amount of upgrades done.
With an intake, exhaust, and UDP, it gains a little extra pep. Add a short throw shifter and you've got a really fun car to toss around. The AWD is only a real bonus if you live in the land of snow & ice, or flash floods. But really... what's the competition? Last year when I was looking, it was: Integra GSR/Type-R, GTI GLX (or GLS w/1.8t), Eclipse GT, maybe a Celica, Nissan didn't have jack, Mazda didn't have jack, Focus (get real), Neon (did I mention I won't buy another American car for a daily driver?), and nothing from across the Atlantic. For $20k, a lot of those cars weren't even close to the RS. The GTI was the closest competition (I wanted to be able to haul 4 adults comfortably), and it was a) not available, b) more expensive, c) not as good for ski-trips.
I know exactly why I bought my RS... why did you buy yours?
