Hey guys, I've been having trouble with my 01 rs just about a month ago it overheated randomly on me and the problem has not returned since... Until today when I was driving it decided to overheat, stopped at a stoplight, cooled down then overheated again. It seems to only happen when the cars been sitting for a couple days... Didn't see any leaks.. Thinking its a sticky thermostat.. Any comments or suggestions please this is my daily so I need to fix it ASAP!!!!!

Sounds like a T-stat to me. It's a relatively quick fix, buy a new one, drain engine and radiator, pull cover off water pump, the switch T-stats. I think it's about a 30 minute job if you include the draining and filling of the cooling system, that actually takes the longest.
MAKE SURE YOU BURP YOUR COOLING SYSTEM!!!!! You'll overheat big time if you get an air pocket in the engine.

The T-belt cover? Nope. You can get to everything without removing that.
Oh I see what you meant. I thought you meant the drivers side t belt cover where the waterpump is :lol:

when were the head gaskets done last?
