I once had a 2.5 rs but got totaled, and no longer want a coupe, and i was looking at a impreza outback sport but is there anyway to put a rs front bumper on it and maybe find some side skirts and a rear bumper (aftermarket like)?
Also:
want to throw a ej20 engine in it and the main mods neccesary
the outback i'm looking at is a 5 speed so would i need a different tranny?

any input would be appreciated

some input from 16 yr old. At least i tried......

putting the RS bumper on the OBS is not all that hard at all. I haven't done it but i know other OBS owners have. i got a picture of one with it. RS side skirts will also fit the OBS too.

A JDM EJ20T you mean, or the USDM WRX EJ20?? It would bolt right up. You may have a hard time doing the harness and wires but it's do-able. If you don't power shift and don't drop/side step the clutch then your tranny will last. If you go a little more extreme as in more power, you might want to go half dogbox. If you go all out hardcore, 400-600hp, a MRT dogbox might be a much better tranny.

If you do the installing and bolting on the stuff yourself, you save alot of money. Sometimes you have to take it to the shop when you don't have the tools. It's always good to learn something when you're getting your hands dirty;)

You might want to do a bit of searching for some info on the web. If it doesn't help, feel free to post your question.

I hope this helps a bit.

The RS Bumper would be cake to mount up to your OBS.

I have a Replica 22B bumper on mine, and once I figured out how to get the bumper cover off it took a matter of minutes to get it mounted up.

In order to mount the 22B bumper on mine I had to get the lightweight bumper beam and mounted the cover on that.

Looks sharp...and I REALLY need to take pictures.

No shit you need to take pics! I wanna see a 22B Wagon! If my RS ever gets totalled in a rear-end collision, I'm buying it back from insurance, and putting as much of the body/driveline/suspension as I can salvage into an OBS. Build myself up an old-skool 2.5TS! I know fron bumper, grill, hood, engine, tranny, and rear diff will go on no problem. And I suspect the suspension will, too, but not sure. I think the brakes are a dirrect replace, too.

Eh?

You have the 22b fenders as well?

IIRC the 22b bumper is wider at the back end to accomodate the mega flares.

I was looking to get a 22b kit for my '98 Impreza until I figured out it wouldn't work so well on a sedan.

The 22B front bumper can go onto a regular RS, from what i remember. The backs just need to be pulled in to match the fender, so it's not a simple swap, but it's not too difficult either. Now if i could just justify the bones for those 22B fenders.... Well, I guess i do need a new passenger side fender, but I'll save the difference towards more power, I think.
