Hey guys. Soooo. For all of you rs-t's. I was wondering what it feels like to drive one. I mean, when you "gun" it, what does it feel like? does it just throw you in the back of your seat like a Mustang cobra does? does it feel like it does when you do a great launch. Your whole body is stuck to the seat? After you went rs-t did you always run in a lower gear so you can be in boost all the time? Any good storys you guys got from your first experence with rs-ts and when your friends, family go to ride in the beast?

I quess all RS-Ts are broke Neal :(
Boost isn't RPM dependent. It is dependent on exhaust volume, and engine load. You will not be on boost if you have your throttle 1/3 of the way open. If you are cruizing around at 35 MPH, you will not be using any more throttle in a higher gear than in the lower gear. You can get on boost faster when you are in a higher gear because when you open the throttle at a higher RPM you are moving more air through your engine at full throttle than at a lower RPM at full throttle.

When you stab the gas you get a nice fluid build in torque (or HP, however you want to look at it) it will not be instantainous, though if you have some RPMs is will definitly happen faster.

especially, when your going 60mph already just cruising, and just step on the gas.... does it get up to 100+ quick, real quick.
Doctornick,

I rode in a 12 - 14psi MY 99 auto little over a year ago and that car smushed you back in the seat. I had finger indentations in the oh crap handle. He took me out to a large parking lot and did four wheel donuts on dry pavement. I had a huge grin when we got back. That car had power to spare. It was scarey fast.

I did ride in another one a few months later; 5spd, MY00 running I believe about 5 - 8psi and it didn't have near the impact that the above car did but you could feel it pulling solidly from start until we ran out of road. A very nice strong linear pull. Much more power than the stock.

After the ride in the '99 I knew I had to force induct! :D

But alas I'm not going the turbo route. Gotta get me an S/C.
i'm running 7psi and my car sorta puts me in my seat. my passengers are stuck to their seat and always hold onto the oh shit handle. all my friends love riding in my car when i go fast, they are always impressed. and when you hear it spool up
if you're thinking of going turbo, DO IT!

Sid
Mustang Cobra?????
Comparing a RS-T to a Mustang is just plain insulting!!!!
I like racing Mustangs..........They're still spinning their wheels as I'm putting it in second!!!!
NOTHING beats a turboed AWD launch!!! My Ru just jumps off the line...........and never comes back!!!:D
I've got almost no turbo lag, and I do keep it in low gears most of the time. I like to hit the gas pedal and take off!!!!!!
Clear the runway V8's!!! I'm coming!!!!!:sunny:
Mine will bend your face.

I bet that's what you want to hear. :sunny:

ill let you know once i get my car running right. seems ive been driving the car this whole time with bad piston rings so i have never felt whta my car can do at even 5psi. ive felt 5 and 10psi on other cars and all i gotta say is they feel fuckin great. my car is going to be a completely new beast in about a month. ECU, pistons, injectors, upped boost

Whose cars were those?

Nick C.
Nick,

The white Turbo auto was, I think his name was Mark or something. His I-Club name was MJOS. I believe that JCSports bought it from him when he bought an Audi. I think his company partially paid for the Audi. I only got bits and pieces so I don't know the whole story. But I did ride in his car. I remember him running 215x45x16 tires on it. Someone told me it was running 12psi or better. Hmmm...when I look back I think it was nearly 2 years ago. I found JCS back in June or July of 2000. But anyway that was my first ride in a turbo car. We came up on that first curve so fast I thought for sure we were going to wreck. And I distinctly remember the chirping from the BOV.

The other car belonged to a younger guy. The car was green I think. I remember it having coilovers and had a nice gooey feeling to it instead of the boing boing I get with my S-Tech springs and AGX's. I want to say it was the guy who sold his car to get the stealth or Mitsu 3000 but I am not sure.
