So anyhow this motorcycle cops next to me in traffic. I was like great, stupid N1 gonna end up getting me a traffic ticket. :boxer: The damn thing is freakin loud, but i love it. Lol..i know the consequences I'm a big boy.. anyhow, he's pacing me right next to me and I have my window open. Just minding my own business. He's obviously pacing me, so I look over and wave and he says with smile, "Sounds like a bug with that flat four."

I was like, whoa! Then a wrx cruises up next to me and proceeds to let me know that he has a blow off valve, over and over and over again. Bone stock, except for his stickers..how cool. Made me wish i was in my MR2.

hmm... well, I just finished putting a jdm gen2 motor in it, its basically the same thing as a us spec motor, but the compressor wheel on the turbo is ceramic. Also, I guess the ecu is programmed more aggressively(more boost) so it pumps out 220hp instead of the us 200. I'm running the US ecu tho, cuz people want outrageous prices for the jdm ecu. I've upgraded the turbo and have all the typical aftermarket turbo bolt ons, so no biggie i guess.

nice mister-2! also, you DON'T want the JDM ECU...it (and most others in JDM turbo cars) are mapped to run 100 RON fuel, which is the equivalent to like 97 or 98 octane...not something you typically find at the pumps in this country.

yah, also the reason i don't wanna run the jdm ecu, I figured I'll be about the same when the jdm one starts retarding timing, so might as well run something that is programmed for 92!

Why'd you swap a JDM engine if it's basically the same? Couldn't you just have got a chip? You upgraded the turbo anyway.

oh, forgot to mention my old motor was going on 130k, bout 500 miles shy, and had bad rings. I didn't wanna go thru the hassle of a rebuild and figured i'll go with a used motor with about 30k miles on it. To my suprise, when i got it, I crack opened the valve cover and it was shiny and silver.

My dad(he's a mechanic) walks into the garage and looks at it and says, "I thought you said this motor is used". I said, it is, 30k miles, he says if thats a motor that has been used for 30k, I'm a woman.

So he starts to poke around and tells me, this things been in an accident and shows me shards of glass everywhere stuck to the motor in certain spots, prolly from the back window, and says that I got real lucky, he estimates that the motor has about 10-15k on it, I was like hell yah! Checked the manual after doing the compression tests and the numbers were almost spot on. I crack the tranny from the engine and install my ACT from my old motor(i only had like 2k miles on it) and he looks at the clutch disk and says, yup, this baby's brand spankin new.

Sad thing is, my friend found the guy I bought my motor from and he got a motor that was in worse condition for 1 hundred dollars more.. oh well.. i just got lucky i guess! whew! :biggest:
