Hi everyone, just have a quick question...
I am looking at a 2001 rs and the car has 133 on it with head gaskets timing belt and water pump just replaced.
it has headers, cai and cat back exhaust. it is throwing P0037 code. now i have been told that this motor throws that code with headers and should not hurt anything(performance and gas milage ect)
just would like to hear any ideas
any help is appreciated

yep, just O2 sensors. no biggie

he said he put in new ones and it came back on..that would be the main question..

if he is running a catless setup, the light will more than likely always be on

no it has a cat on there. i have heard the headers alone will cause this..i have also heard about a spacer?

headers shouldn't cause this if there is a cat in the system.

also i have heard of the spacer (was actually looking for the link for you as we speak) though i have no idea if it works or not

Wouldn't the engine default to a rich setting or are the 02's in our car's mainly to check on the cat?

I have a cel for my 02 sensors about every 500+ miles. I need a new cat *shrug*. So far I still get good mileage so I suppose I answered my above question, ignore it.

i've had my CEL on because of O2 sensors since i've had my car. Doesn't feel down on power and i am still getting 25mpg so..

haha

also am running catless now and nothing has changed since i went catless

front o2 is used for rich/lean fuel correction, rear o2 is to check the cat.
