I somewhat searched, but I have no idea what the proper search would be for.

I was wondering, people that run a short ram, wouldnt you just be able to put a mushroom filter onto a pipe just long enough for the maf/map sensor and then into the intake manifold. If you're sucking in hot air, who cares about the short ram length? Or am I overlooking a serious aspect?

Realistically map is possible and has been done, theres posts of it on here of a 2-3inch tube from the intake manifold to the filter.

Found one of the threads its similar to what your thinking but instead its an enclosed filter instead of just a shroom.

You cant do this with a MAF sensor car
