I am currently tooling up to manufacture these headlighs for the WRX and I would like to get your opinion on them. The attached pictures are photoshopped, hence the off colour on the lights.
I am trying to gauge peoples opinions on how they look, please feel free to tell me exactly what you think of them, be it good or bad.

These lights should be ready for sale around July and should cost around $650 Austalian.
They will feature injection moulded front cover with a steel pressing to carry the lights. The low beam light on the inside is a projection light 55w, and the hight beam is a 100w halogen long range spot beam. The small lense on the end is the position lamp. They have individual rear adjustment of of each light beam and mount on the same mounting points as the standard lights,

Hey Sven, I'll chip in with an opinion! :D

Overall, I really like the idea. Anything that improves the headlights of our cars is a good thing, and incorporating the side lights in is much cleaner than that Morettes we usually see. Using the factory mounting points is a big plus as well.

My only concern, and it's purely cosmetic, is that there seems to be a lot of plastic housing for some relatively small lenses. On some colors (such as black), this might be alright, but on other colors it might make the front end look "off". I realize that you can't do much about the lens size, but you DID ask... ;)

lovely! is there a picture of how the headlight would look like from behind? If you have an example of it with another headlight, please show. I want to see how the beam adjusting parts look like.

looks awesome!
Thanks!

I hope to be able to offer these for lhd as well, I am currently checking to see what the freight would be worth to the USA. The rear adjustment is the alluminium knobs, only the vertical allignment is adjustable

Sven,
Hey, it's Darrell again! I like the look of them a lot! Only thing I would change is the lens size; I think they would look better if the lenses took up all the vertical space they could. Do they use H4 or H7 bulbs or something else? Thanks.

Yes you are right the holes are a bit on the small side, I have since made them as large as possible, but I can't move the side light because of the room needed behind it. I will try and rework the pics and repost. Thanks for your input.

Now here's what I would REALLY like :)

To retain the same stock look - i.e., a glass over cover, silver lining, with the two lights inside. The outside (main) lights use a H4 bulb, and the inner highbeams use a H3 bulb, pencil beam reflector. Do not replace the side marker lights, just replace the headlight assembly.

When I see those, I'll buy some. :D

Yeah, I guess that is a good way to describe it. I personally like the current shape of our headlights, but I would like an extra lamp, and a H4/H3 setup. I can get some insane candlepower in there then. :biggest:
