So I just got my swap started (07 WRX in 98 RS, using RS trans), and when I depress the clutch there is a rythmic grinding sound. When you let the clutch out it goes away.

The related parts I installed.

New Fidanza LW Flywheel
New ACT Clutch, with pilot and throwout bearings
New Clutch Master and Slave Cylinders.

Any help solving this would be very much appreciated. This is the last thing keeping me from enjoying my swap :)

So it is a noise with the clutch depressed. Does that mean it is the pilot bearing, not the throwout? The Fidanza FW uses Loctite to hold the pilot bearing, could this have not stuck, or does it need time to heat up and expand to where it should be?

I'm trying to figure this out before tonight so I don't pull the trans if I don't have to.
