Hello,

A few months ago I rear ended a Subaru Impreza WRX. We were at a left turn light that was red at the time, it turned green and I proceed to go but hit the Subaru. We were not going more than 20 mph. I drive a 2001 Chevy Blazer and I have hooks on the bottom of my front bumper (for towing, etc) the hooks pierced the Subaru's bumper. When the owner of the Subaru took the car to get a quote for the damage it was originally quoted at $1500 to get the bumper replaced, repairing the trunk lid without a rear spoiler, alignment of the trunk, and replacing the A/M left and right lamp assy. However, my insurance is telling me that when they took off the bumper, there was $3800 more in damage. Can anyone tell me what is behind a Subaru Impreza WRX that a low impact crash would cause that much damage? I thought there was only shock absorbers and if the bumper is being replaced then wouldn't that take care of the shock damage?
