Hi,

My name is Branden and i have been wanting to turbo my car before I even bought it, but I am slowly working my way towards that. I have been researching and learning and discovering many things...and now I want to start putting together a list of things that I want to use for my build. I put this in the Subaru Conversions because I am still in the process of finding out what will work and what won't and a lot of the parts I want to use are factory subaru parts. So, any advice or input would be much appriciated.

MY LIST:
Step 1:
04 STI 6 speed
STI Flywheel and flywheel
Auto drive shaft
Hydro pedal assembly
WRX/STI clutch master/slave cylinders
Group N Motor/trans mounts

Step 2:
EJ25D DOHC heads
EJ25D intake manifold
VF39 or VF43
EJ22E Stock Short Block
Head gaskets
ARP hardware
Notched crossmember
New water pump
New oil pump
Turbo exhaust manifold
Turbo back exhaust and uppipe
Bigger Injectors
Walbro in tank fuel pump
Ebay FMIC
External WG
Hydra EM

*I do not want to swap* so don't suggest it

I know this is a very complex and ambitious dream but I like to dream...so don't spoil my dream

Any helpful information is welcome

Thanks,
Branden

MY96 Legacy EJ25 Block and DOHC heads (9.6:1 Compression Ratio Stock) Get metal 3ply gaskets.
96 EJ25 intake manifold or JDM EJ20G manifold - Get what bolts up!
td04 or VF39 - VF 39 or better
Crank (Not decided) Phase II 2.5 (they are work, don't worry about getting an STI one. But make sure it fits in your case, I can't remember if it does or not.
Rods (If you can use a phase II 2.5, then stock STI rods, otherwise you can get forged rods from outback sports.)
Pistons (Forged, you will have to do some searching if you need phase 1 pistons)
Bearings (ACL, race or standard, hell even OEM is great)
Piston Rings (usually come with the pistons)
Head gaskets (Metal 3-ply)
ARP hardware (not needed in my opion)
Turbo crossmember (DO NOT GET 2006 and newer, pain in the ass).
Turbo water pump (Only needed if you use the extrernal oil cooler )
Turbo oil pump (12mm of either NA or turbo type)
Legacy turbo exhaust manifold (or $100 ebay special, works 90% of the time)
Ebay turbo back and uppipe (yep)_
Ebay FMIC (YEP)
Clutch (Clutchnet.com good choices, ACT as well, get a 6 puck.)
Flywheel (I have been using stock style)
External WG (only needed if HEAVY boost)
Motor/trans mounts (Group N off ebay)

what about wrist pins? can the 2.5 liter ones be re-used? or should new ones be used? Never mind, kinda dumb Question

Ok, now I have found a couple more things...I would now like to see some pictures of a WRX cam gear (driver side intake) and a DOHC EJ25D cam gear (same driver side intake)...both sides preferably.

Thanks,
Branden

Look at the ports of the 20g and the 25d. The 20g should be notiably bigger. If you can use that do it.
