well, it been offically announced that McRae will not renew with Ford for next year. so where's he going? nothing is signed yet, but Citroen is the front runner, though Subaru has put out an offer as well.
he said at San Remo that Subaru had made an offer, but that it "wasn't quite right yet" or something to that effect. he would definitly have a place on the team. they need a 3rd driver desperatly to compete now. just imagine that line up: Makinen, McRae, Solberg  although they could use a tarmac specialist (unless Solberg keeps up the good work ). last year they had talks with Jesus Puras but unfortunately nothing came of it. and then there was the failed experiment with Mortl
I hope he gets a contract with someone in time for next season. It'd be a damn shame if he couldn't get a ride with someone, or if he decided to retire, or move to annother form of racing or something crazy like that. But I don't think that'd really happen. It would be so awesome if he signed up with Subaru again.
robbie gordon has certainly proved himself in rally-x and baja, as well as stock cars and open wheelers, i'm sure he could be a good rally driver too. of course, i suspect he would have to jump through some hoops before landing a works car in the WRC. i'm sure subaru will try to pick up someone else for next year, possibly a tarmac specialist. although, makinen's contract is up after next season when he may retire, so subaru needs to get another headliner, although at this rate, that may be Solberg
