I just spent 1/2 hour of my valuable(?) time wading through a bunch of crap! At least half of the questions had been asked at least 5000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times. AAARG! I reaaly like I-club too, it too bad. And yes, I am one of the "newbies"(9436)

all they are (wrxer's) are a bunch of bandwagoners. I didn't even have my license when i bought my RS. I just knew through and through that i didn't want that ugly body style so i went and got what i wanted. But man i never noticed how hard it would be for a h.s. student to pay for a new car.. man i'm always broke....

Taking donations... :biggest: Keep a GC8 in good hands

It gets no easier paying for your RS while in college. I'm hurting as well. I spent all my money on my season pass, now I barely have enough gas money to get there!

You know, I asked all the oldtimers in my regional forum what went wrong with the i-club, why they don't participate in it anymore. Some of the answers are similar to what people have been saying here. RS25.com should check it out sometime. I'm sure he know's what regional forum I belong to.:sunny:

I saw that thread. I didn't post there because I really didn't have anything constructive to add...

BTW, I am KeithRS on the I-Club.

I joined I-club in January of 2001.. When there was only like 3700 members. I didn't frequent the board that often so I can't really give a "old skool" side. I just know everyone's opinion is more valuable then their self-esteem.

When the I joined the i-club there was a LOT of useful information that really helped me out and I had a lot of fun surfing the board. Recently I have not had all that much fun. I mean there are a few useful posts, but not that many. Even the local meets don't seem to be that fun anymore. It's like everybody thinks they are too important for the other people, but at the same time the club is what brings them together. I don't go to the local meets anymore because they have lost their fun siece Nick left for colorado:( but he is still fun to talk to on the board!!:D

The mountains out here arent too bad either!!

Mt. Baker already is over 100in at the bottom and Stevens dosent look too bad either. Although I know that I can't resist the mountains in CO. My sister lives there and almost every winter we take a trip to visit her *cough*go skiing*cough* and the mountains always have awesome snow!! Nice to see someone else on the NEW board that is cool and I am sure there will be a couple new local members joining too!! Feels great to shed all that i-club weight! It's the www.rs25.com weight loss program!:biggest:

Nick,

I checked the post over at the i-club and I have to agree for the most part. I think the i-club just got too big, you know? I originally started going there because it was small, presonal, and friendly. I stopped going earlier this year when the WRX came out because it was so ugly, and they seemed to alienate the RS owners when they changed the logo.

So now I just need som spiffy artist to make a cool logo for the RS Club that has an RS in it... :D

i am guessing that you read my rant then...i have just seen even OLd skool guys lately buying wrx's and picking up their attitude...we have ALOT of good guys in the midwest, no trobule makers(well had one but he hit a tree at 60) so for the most part we a prtty well behaved group but lately the amount of the Old Skool RS guys continues to dwindle @ meets.

politics

I've only been on i-club for about a year and a half. I lurked as a guest for about 6 months. I swear if i see the phrase, "do a search" one more time.......Actually it's kind of ironic to see the moderators change the attitude of the board from discussion (which is supposed to be what it's all about, duh) to basicly a search engine. There's a lot of good info in there, and there are some people still making some decent contributions... but the eliteism just GRATES on the nerves.

Hey I really dig the smilies here. :) :nuetron:

Yes!! I agree with you meebs, by the way, hi! We've met before. The oldtimers spend half their time saying do a search and the other half reminiscing about the good ol days of checkpoint 2 or whatever.

Hey Nick! How are you? I wasn't sure if you would remember me or not, yeah we met at the Wingdome a few times.

I remember what one old timer said, he was worried that with the popularity of the rex, the board was going to turn into the next club-si. Some of the old timers are still really cool though. And I made a few friends through i-club, infact the NW forum and the Motorsports forum is about all i hit anymore. :/

How could I forget. You damaged your car, and it's the same as mine! Did you ever get that fixed? And I damaged mine, rolled over a rock that was too big and put some mighty scraps under the front spoiler. Thankfully it doesn't show.
