Wanted to let you guys know that old_duwel off of the I-Club and I are going to do a walk through on how to rebuild the M/T from his EJ20 GC8 as well as making a walk through for how to do your clutch job. The pics for the clutch job have been done and I just have to scan them in and post up the directions. Once its all done it will end up on Scoobymods so the rest of you can reference it.

Nice, 1st gear CABLUEWWWWWWWWEEEEEEE!!!!
I did second gear that year and replaced it myself.

BTW, where year model did that tranny come out of?

So what gears all ended up with damage on yours? Any input as to why you think it happened? Have you looked into getting replacement gears cryo hardened or heat treated?

This happened last Oct. I was at a autocross and slammed it into 2nd too hard. I broke 2nd but I knew what happened as soon as I broke it. I stopped the car. The only other damage was to one of the 2nd gear syncro rings. The one with the three ears that goes into the three dimples in the side of the second gear broke off. I replaced them last year with a set of stock gears. I run in SoloII STS class and can't run anything but stock gears.

We were going to go with stock gears for now but try to get them hardened. Kind of interested in seeing how much longer they can hold up to abuse. While we're testing its endurance we thought it would be a good time to build up a spare M/T with dog gears.
