Hey, i was just wondering if anyone has put only lowering springs on their car without any other suspension mods or anything. Cause i wanna lower my car about 1.5 inches, but i dont have money for anything more than just lowering springs.

If i got lowering springs installed would i be bottoming out over every single speed bump and dip or what?

Any help or info would be appriciated.

Thanks,

With the stock struts, the eibach pro kit seems to be the best choice although I'm not sure if it would lower 1.5 in. I'd suggest saving more $ so you could get shocks too. A good, economical choice would be the KYB adj. shocks w/ intrax/ground control/HKS springs. All would make a good combo although I heard that intrax springs would work well w/ KYB.

I ran my 5Zigen springs on my stock struts for around six months for the same reasons, the car actually handled on an autocross course a little better, but it didn't do as well on bumpy roads. Heck it still doesn't do as well on bumpy roads. But it grips in the curves.

I would try the Eibach pro kit or the Whitelines with the stock struts.

The key to making your car handle and look good is to preserve some of the wheel travel...Roads in the US are not like in Japan...Thats why their suspensions are known for being really stiff and too low for the US...I suggest getting some Eibachs and work with that or look for a deal on used struts and grab them...Check out the people in Australia and England and grab some of their used gear that came stock on their Sti's and WRX's. Check out www.mrtrally.com.au The classifieds there have some lowering springs for really cheap...Remember our dollar is worth about 2 of theirs so even better for us...

I have H&Rs on mine without any other suspension mods. It lowered the car approx. 1.8" in the front and approx. 1.5" in the rear. At first it felt okay...way stiffer than stock, but after about 4 months it just started bouncing a lot. I hate it now. Good thing I got V5 struts.:D

I've been told that if you get stiff springs/struts that you should also get a set of the group N hardened top mounts, because the stock ones are soft and they make the car go boingyboingy over bumps - suspension isn't absorbing the impact, the top mounts are.

eibach is the best on the stock struts becuase they aren't too stiff for the struts. i have HKS, and they lowered my car ATLEAST 1.5" and prbably more. as for the ride, they are a bit choppy but the car stays relatively flat in the hard turns. i'd say get the eibachs now and then some AGX's later and that'll be pretty decent set up.
