I just found this forum, odd isn't it? I have been getting sick of the iclub, and this seems to be a worthwhile alternative. Just thought I would introduce myself for those who don't know me.

I bought my MY99 RS back in November of 1998. Since then I have been relentlessly trying to turn it into a Rex Eater. I knew the day would come when some watered down version of the WRX would show up at my doorstep. I basically did everything possibe to defend myself. Including turbocharging, and a TEC II. The day came I think in the Summer where I had to prove my RS was a worthy plateform. I engaged in a track day at Watkins Glenn. I knocked off what I believe was 5 WRX's on that fateful day. I remember each one of them individually. Sobbing as I passed. Hehe...enough war stories.

Here are a couple pics incase anybody cares. I posted them in here, because of the motor and dyno pics.

The dyno numbers are almost a year old, and will be throughly beatin in the up coming month. Basically I was running under very bad conditions, i.e. really HOT air. The TEC map that was making roughly 7psi on that run, made 10psi on the street.

How do you do.
Good to have another running RS-T on board.
Looks kie Minnam kit to me. Am I right. I have a Ludespeed Kit with Minnam TMIC. It's going on the car on march 8th. :D
Sorry but I got few questions :) :
How many miles did you drive since you installed the kit?
Did you have TEC II installed since the beggining?

Glad to have you here, I hope you will enjoy your stay.

Yeah, its roughly a Minnam Stage II. I started out with the Minnam II and every piggyback imaginable; i.e. J&S, ITC, SAFC, MBC, RRFPR. I realy didn't like the Minnam piping, so most of it was replaced. I now run a Rallispec 3" catless turbo back exhaust. Spool up it instant, full boost is reached well below 3000rpm. I drove the car this way for about 6 months, including two track days.

Although the car ran well, I didn't think that there was much of a future in it. Running lean and not making great power above 5500rpm, I decided to go TEC. I was one of the first, so I was quite the guinea pig. Nonetheless as soon as the engine fired I knew it was the right decsion. The TEC tranforms the car. Throttle response is like no other car I have driven. Power is there from 1800rpm all the way to 6300rpm. The broad powerband, and endless torque make it great for track days. Although it is still docile enough off boost to commute to college everyday.

Total mileage on the car is ~45,000. I put the turbo kit on at roughly 15,000, and went TEC at 20,000. I haven't had one problem with the motor, yet, although I have blown 2 trannies and a rear. The first trans was a manufacturing defect that I actually got covered under warrenty, with the turbo installed:D The second was me being stupid. I decided to run it at the drag strip. It spun a 4 through first, but when I banged 2nd.....it blew up.

Since then I have only gone to the track for all out datalogging. Hey were else can you do 140mph, without breaking any laws, for under 20 bucks? My best time recently being a 14.9 at over 100mph, gaining more than 30mph threw the last 1/8 mile. My 60 foot times are about 2.5sec;) I then use about a second or two to shift into 2nd gear. Half throttle it until 3rd, where I allow the gas peddle to hit the floor. I take it all the way down the track until about 6krpms in 5th gear. Then really test my new brakes, AP 4-pistons.

Most of my mods are listed below my sig., just click it. It does need to be updated though.

I'm sure that answered way more questions than you asked. I'm just wired on coffee at 4am:eek: If you got anymore, feel free to ask. Its why I'm here, well that and of course to learn some more.

Cheers,
