OK, I will start this story with my first Impreza, a 1998 RS that I purchased in..02 I think. It had 65k on it and picked it up for $6500. It was bought as a daily driver/winter/autox car. I soon fell in love with AWD and the handling capabilities.The headgaskets were replaced among some other problems. So the modding started. Heres a short MOD list for the 98 as well as a few pics. The car has been gone for a few years now.

The Second Impreza RS Transformation
After the 98 RS was sold, I was in search of another Subaru, but being that STi's are just too much money, driven mostly by d-bags, and the fact that I love the older Imprezas, another GC8 had to be found. At first, I looked for any high mileage RS that I could eventually swap, because at that time, GT and ECS were swapping alot of cars and and GC8's swaps were becoming the "new thing". Myself, having mild OCD, I could not find an RS that fit my standards.

So, I waited and stumpled across a local car that I had to go check out...the listing read..5,000 Original miles, Lots of work, etc,etc. It was a 2000 RS with literally 5k on the odometer. The problem was It was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen in my life.

Heres a short list of the rediculous parts that were on the car:
Full authentic Veilside kit, 18in VOLK TE37's, Corbeau Seats, carbon hood, the loudest 5zigen exhaust, Randomtech cat, TWE headers(cool but loud), JDM tails, V6 wing, etc.
Now, some of the cool parts were kept, but the car was mostly striped down, UN-pimped and transformed into a Normal car. The good thing was the guy kept some of the stock parts and the car was kept incredibly clean. The car was basically a SHOW car that was turned into my current daily driver/auto-x vehicle. Heres a couple pics of the first transformation

When Purchased:

A couple weeks later: Stock interior, SideSkirts, Fog covers, Spats painted and body returned to stock

The MOD List above is the most current as of (October 2011)
Mileage is now - 43,530
No longer my Daily Driver as I've also purchased another 4door RS STM(journal soon)

I have put ALOT of time and money into this RS. At this stage the car is an ongoing project. Will be transformed into more a "replica" car in the future. :)

Added a pic before it goes into winter mode.
Harness bar is gone and some other things...Mods are coming to an end for now, money is needed in other places.
The plan for next summer is light bumper beams and V4 front, Alum hood and trunk. . Full header-back exhaust and a new suspension setup because KYB suck on PA roads. Roll my fenders some more, tuck some 225's on my 16's and maybe grab and a set of 17's.

Great find, and thank you for taking off all that hideous rice, especially the front bumper! I gotta admit the volks looked good on the car, but would be alot better looking if they were smaller. The GC's just dont look good with anything bigger than a 17. Im thinking 24's for my car though... What'd you do with the 5 spokes? Still have them?

Future/wintertime plans:

Fenders rolled a bit more to fit the 225's
Considering a proper coilover or Gymkana/Koni setup.
JDM 4/2 Pots
V-Brace installed.

Otherwise, minor work continues on the STM 4door DD, making the car travel ready with comfort and utility items. I will start another journal for that car soon.
