It's got the 4.11 gearing. Does anyone have good / bad things to say about the V2 JDM tranny? I'm thinking about buying one..

Thanks!

I've got one in my car with an EJ20. I like it. The gear ratios are a little short for US highways but its not terrible. What else do you want to know about it?

Oh, and I didn't do the math, but I'd liken it to the STi 6 speed without a 6th gear. Similar speeds I'm at similar RPMs, I just don't have that second overdrive.

gotcha, im just curious to its durability, what one could expect to pay for one with about 76k on it? What's about 80mph put the RPM's at in 5th gear??

Thats a lot on it. Wouldn't pay more than $750 maybe depending on if you know its good.

With close to RS stock tires, I'm somewhere around 3600 RPM going 80 in 5th. Maybe a little more. Not sure because I drive 65-70 now! Haha.

haha yeah i hear ya. The guy who has it has a 00 RS rear end that comes with it for 900, i asked him what he wants for just the tranny, so we'll see. I'd go with an STi 6 speed since you say its almost the same but they're so much more expensive

If it is really a v2. also... open front diff.

For refrence 99-01 RS gear ratios:
