I'm going to do it in stages and start with just picking up a EJ205 and doing a direct wrx swap keeping my 4.11 rs tranny. To all be done by GT. Then later down the line I'm going to stroke da biatch and put in some new internals better bearings pistons and rods and a sti crank. while the engine is getting done I will find myself a 6 speed and matching rear diff and axles.

SHould be a fun approach

If you're going the engine build route you should probably get a 2.5 block...that extra 25% displacement really makes a big difference.

complete short blocks can be had on the cheap from sti owners. which makes picking up a rod knocked Ej205 even better

Rodknocking wrx motor + wiring/ecu+ new ej257 shorty (or crawford if you are feeling spendy) = the best swap.

Wish I did that.

basically my plan...except I was going to run the EJ205 for a while, then do the 6-speed swap, then go with the 2.5 short block, when I had a tranny that could actually take the torque + a bit of abuse.
