I don't know if this is a "problem" or just a normal thing, but my RS has done this since day one. I have a factory alarm. When I press the unlock button and get in my car, the "door open" light is on. Even when all the door are closed. The door light stays on until I put the key in and to acc. I think. Same thing for when I get out of my car. The door open light is on once the key is out and won't turn off unless I press the lock button on my alarm.

Very normal. The dome light is supposed to come on for 30 seconds so you can see what you are getting into - like someone hiding in the back trying to mug you. Well, it's also hard-wired to that indicator light, because Subaru was too cheap to bypass the dash light, so it comes on as well. Mine does that, as do many alarm systems now a days.

Ah ok. I really love how that dome light turns on for a while when you unlock with the alarm and get out also.

Is the stock alarm system supposed to go on when the trunk is opened? Cuz mine doesn't. This alarm is so damn pathetic. I can bang on my car and it won't even chirp. This is even after I had it adjusted by the dealer too!!!

No, because there is no switch for the trunk.

So....

What I did was go to the dealer, bought another drivers side dome light switch, drilled a hole in the edge of my trunk where the trunk lid comes down, mounted the switch, and wired it in parallel with the drivers side door switch wires. Now when you open the trunk the alarm goes off. :biggest:
