Is the WRX tranny different than ours?

I have been trying to find out if the wrx tranny is different than ours. I was just wondering if they have to be careful with the turbo's or if I am just paranoid about running an ACT clutch and a DNT supercharger.

Well I was reading about Australian WRXs today, and MY'01 (or 02) had a 3.90 final drive, and the '02 got bumped up to a 4.44 along with closer ratios for 1, 2, 3 I believe. Intent was to keep it in the power band more (hmm. buzzier on the freeway, no?)

Anyway, I wonder if that change was made here as well?
