Im in the process of assembling a turbo kit for my car, and I need to find a quality intercooler for my car for something less than $700, which Ludespeed wants for one (Spearco 18x9). So my question is does anyone know of any companies who make a reputable TMIC for the RS (i.e. GReddy, HKS, something like this)? Im looking for something under $400 preferably. Thanks for any information.

None of those companies make an intercooler for our cars, AFAIK.

Best best would be to look for something on eBay or something like that.

I'm using a pre 97 WRX intercooler on mine. I got it from iSR, you might want to check them ant and see waht they have.

Yes I have looked at the ones from iSR, are you happy with the quality of the intercooler you got from them?

It's a Subaru part, so the quality is fairly good. It's obviously used though. A few of the fins were bent when I put it on the car.

8- The one that I have is a bottom feed tank also

Does it matter which intercooler I get? The side feeds represent the ones like the Spearco I/C? Not quite sure what you mean by bottom feed intercooler.

The intlet for the intercooler is on the bottom, instead of on the side like you see most of the RS-T's running. If you want to use a WRX intercooler, you'll need to get a 96 or OLDER intercooler, as the ones that are newer then that won't fit between the TB and firewall.

What about the new age WRX intercooler? Willl they bolt up...

They will not work because they are too large to fit between the TB and the firewall on the RS. If you look at a WRX engine, you can see that the TB is pushed way forward, to make room for a larger intercooler.

Killer-

I don't think that there's a specific kit for the RS. I've heard of people getting a Civic FMIC and having custom piping and brackets made for it.

you would hippy :biggest:

i think someone needs to create a FMIC kit for the RS. or atleast the IC part and major tubing and just have us custom a few pieces. but i'm not sure how well that would work.

I am curious to know if the U.S. spec WRX intercooler will work on the RS. I am going to be running the Legacy kit on my RS. From what I recall some guy on i-club was running one on his turbo RS, I think his name was Alpine63, or AlpineSuby, something like that. He had his kit built by Vermont Rally Team (?). I understand that the WRX uses a twin exit system, correct me if im wrong, so it requires much more intercooler tubing to the turbo. I am asking this because I really don't want to buy one for $700, and I would like something that looks a little nicer than a pre-96 WRX intercooler.
