Intake+ Exhaust for a 98?

What Intake\Exhaust combo should I go for... (It's for a 98)

I'de like a CAI.. but I'm having trouble finding one for a MY98..

I'm pretty sure I'll go with the Stromung Dual Tip.. My only worry is that it won't sound beefy enough .. (I want a nice mean growly noise)..

Thanks

Anyone know what CAI's are available for a 98??

I know Cobb is working on one that should be out in June..

Should I wait until then?
it's all a matter of opinion on the intake. i say wait. as for the exhaust... what do you want to do? header to tip, catback, or just a muffler? i know cobb is working on a header-cat combo that sounds pretty sweet.
Thanks for the reply.

I'll wait for the Cobb..

As for exhaust.. I'm going to go Stromung SS Dual Tip.. and then I'll do the Header Cat combo that Cobb is offering when I make more money.
For my '98 I used a JCS j-tubing off another '98 owner who wrecked his car. Then, I contacted Larry Ganz and he gave me the necessary parts to make the intake into a CAI. Pictures of the install can be found here. Hope this helps some.

I have a MY99 and am kind of tired waiting on the Cobb to come out so I bought a kit from Larry Ganz that includes a MAF adapter and some extra hose clamps and vacuum hose to make a Cobb fit. Danzborin did it already and has instructions I can email to anyone 1 Meg apiece and there are 4 documents. I should have more pictures on how to do it when I do mine in about 1 month.

kinda o/t, but does anyone know if the cobb will fit ALL MAF subarus?

i've already got the T fitting to get the 4 hoses to fit a 3 hose intake, since we all know dem hose cause nothin' but problemz.

i just want something to replace this junky-looking-engine-paint-painted-silicone cracking-JCS that knocks against the underside of my hood when i start the car.

MistaRS - my prodrive exhaust is the growliest sounding thing around, but i don't know where you'd find one. it's a great sleeper exhaust...quiet and menacing around town, but it will still make itself heard when you want it to. it's somewhere between a boxster exhaust note, and a well breathed WRX turbo boxer sound, although not as loud. drivers of other 4 cylinder japanese cars won't screw with you anymore, but guys with V8's will.
If I read Cobb's sight correctly, they won't be developing a MAF stule intake. Could be wrong though.

Hey Poppa! Did you convert the files or something? The 4th one should be at least 3 megs even zipped. If you did, send them to me, I could use smaller versions. If I had adobe acrobat, I would change them to PDFs.

There should be a few more steps to make it work on the my98, but Mr. Ganz knows how IIRC. Good luck and don't cross your fingers for Cobb developing the intake for the MAF by June.

no I think they were all 1 meg apiece IIRC. I am in Miami right now and I can find out for you when I get home this weekend. My Cobb should be in also so I can start cutting it myself. I also have acrobat which I can write files should I see if I can covert it to smaller sizes?
That would be good. The last page is 3 megs. Often too big to email. I am looking into getting it onto a friends website, so I can have people directly download it from that. I might also see if scooby mods will carry it. The only problem is Cobb not liking their instructions with it...

Let me know how the install goes. If you have any ?s, pm me here or i-club and I'll get you my # so you can call me in an emergency...;)
