No its actually not that bad. Its pretty indecisive though - and for GOOD reason too!
Still working on the research aspect of my Impreza project.
The 2.5 engine swap just flunked out (after about 3 weeks of research on it), because I dont even want to deal with the torque levels on the tranny and all the other probs a 2.5L presents (especially with possible stg1 or 2 turbo)
So Im thinking, maybe I should just keep this bloody 1.8. Rebuild it...only stronger this time. Get a reliable and custom turbo put on by a Subie specialist shop who will be rewarded for their diligent work.
PROS of the proposed 1.8T:
- less engine weight (than other 2.5)
- no hassle of finding new engine, testing engine, swapping engines
- a 1.8T cant be that fast (not looking for LeMans here...only a nice DailyD)
- hopefully this way will be cost effective too!
CONS of 1.8T:
- My dog has more balls than my car
- a 1.8T CANT be that fast
I forgot to mention that if one was to go as far to swap a 2.5L into a 1.8Br., somehow turbo kits "accidentaly" happen to land on them....hmm, shit happens.
Anyhow, Id like to hear some personal opinions of what you all would do if you had the choice. Nice thing about this model is that it doesnt way a grain of sand to begin with, and we allready took some unneccesary weight out of it.
Thank you for your patience
