Yes, it seems like some of the old school memebers bought the WRX when it first came out and thought of it as naturally progressing or something like that. I don't feel that way, I think the RS is special.

I love the way the RS looks, which is the primary reason why I got mine. Plus, it's just about the only car with enough head room for me (I'm 6' 4" tall) that has any semblance of good looks and performance. Plus, knowing I can turbo it one of these days ... heh!

What can I say - Owned and loved by choice. :checkit:

I'm member #192 on i-Club so I've seen lots and lots of changes. I lost respect for the management of the i-Club on several issues.

One was Imprezer's smack talking to 2.5 RS owners about how fast his car was and then, about a month later, him slapping down an RS owner for complaining about a WRX vs. RS 'tude. Based on what I read that attitude started at the top.

Second was the day after Sept 11, a post by Nick peddling specail i-Club t-shirts with a promised donation of 50 cents a shirt going to relief. That's bad taste, it's especially bad taste to put $8-$10 in your pocket and give 50 cents to the relief effort. The amount was changed when a lot of people complained.

Third, some people can do no wrong. I got a public berating by Subie Gal for copying part of a PM in a public message. She's in a big huff complaining that's tasteless and against the spirit of i-Club. So what do I see her do sixty days later when she's got an axe to grind with someone. She posted there PM. Anyway obviously certain people get certain priveleges. I think there's some power tripping go one there. I've been there a long time cause I like Subie's not cause I have some inate desire to stroke someone's ego.

Oh well as the Imprezidents, and their brown nosers, are fond of saying 'Here's the door'

i'm not in anyway an old schooler, but i remember the boards the first months i was there when there was no WRX and all i can say is that i liked it better then. even when the first rexes were being bought, it wasn't the non-subie enthusiast so the community feeling was there. now it's all "wrx's are faster than 2.5's" and that kinda crap. i also never understood not being able to post street races and such because that's just one of the many joys of cars. on another note, all g-tech numbers should be shunned becuase they require lots of open road and going 60 for 0-60's and 85+ for et's. just my little rant for the day.

Amen AZ-GT!

I definetly agree that favoritism happens on that board. that is one of the things I have been complaining about a long time over there.

I once posted a simple poll asking if people think if favoritism happens or not and it got shut down. I made no ill remarks and said I was simply "Curious". I didn;t even give my stance on the issue!

You know... I think it's kinda cool - all the people who can finally vent. I am glad the RS Club can be an outlet for pent up frustrations. And maybe it'll make the world a better place! LOL! I mean think about it - a small load will be taken off of the moderators at the I-club, and the little squirmishes between RS and WRX owners will slowly disapate, and everyone will be able to better focus on what they love - their car - their EXACT car - and continue to learn, build, and just be happy.

Now isn't that a bowl of Christmas spirit or what?

Yep James, you've provided a much needed outlet from the I-club goins on.The us versus them thing was going to reach critical mass soon. But ive seen the RS guys lately back off from flaming back at the ignorance of the new rex crowd(Cooler heads prevailed lol).Just read the old N/A or "old school" forums,,,,ghost town.
thanks

Hey Rudy I have been meaning to ask you about them cams and maybe try to go for a ride in your car since I am on the verge of ordering them for my self. I am by no means a new member either but I have seen a drastic difference since I joined (and actually bought a impreza since June) to the current state. I don’t know about the Ice, interior and exterior though, Ice sounds a little to bling, bling for my taste. Hell I didn’t even know what it meant until I was reading a copy of Super Street today which by the way is not a very good read IMHO.

I totally agree... I hate the moderators on I-club. They think they know everything. Its like you can't say something bad about them at all or else they will delete your trend. Oh and remember when Alex was selling his stuff on the classified boards and the put his post on sticky.... alot of vendors got mad at that.

Yeah, now he has his own forum to sell his stuff. The Vendors will be even more pissed now.
I guess its a perk for owning the website though.

who cares. this is a new beginning. let go of what happened before and just focus on keeping this place clean.

:stupid:

oh yeah and i used to be with the iclub for awhile (member 1170) and i just cant stand the animosity plus the anonymity. the place became so unpersonal and harsh.

i like having sub 12000 members and knowing alot of you guys by a first name basis, even if i havent met you. it makes owning the same cars all that much more sweeter.....

oh yeah i got yellow calipers...WHO WANTS TO RACE NOW?:boxer:

 :flame:
