high-temp fluid and a heat shield couldn't hurt. If you've got any thermal wrap, maybe that would help. If you want to go totally ghetto style, get some aluminum foil, sandwich in some insulation (like the fiberglass stuff used in walls of houses), and some more aluminum foil. And of course, duct tape. Duct tape fixes everything.
