Don't people have anything else going on with their cars? 90% of the threads are about lame-o body kits. Pah-tooey. Should've just bought the Civic.

its kinda expected that it would turn out that way. i mean, theres not much new in terms of looks being done to the gc8 style imprezas that hasnt been covered before. theres also the growing wrx fanbase and aftermarket

Body kits are SO 1990's. Played out. It's twice as annoying because three different people start threads about the same stupid stuff. Grr.

sorry have seen VERY few body kits i like...no matter what car they are on. I am just very picky.

Me too. The chunky mortal kombat crap is just baad. Totally messes with the clean lines of the car, and not in a good way.

I believe some of the kits are very tasteful. The car isn't very attractive, so why not dress it up?

I think they could do some of the exact same stuff to their cars, a honda or just about everything else. A lot of this stuff is just creativity...

As long as their drivetrain keeps the FWD wheelspin under control then this will be a formidable car. I read another article where they specifically mentioned autocrossing with this car....their opinion was that it was built for it. Looks like the domestics are going to try competing in the small compact tuner market. I for one would love to go for a spin in one of these just to see what Dodge has cooked up. :)

You know what cracks me up?

All the WRX guys making those posts about how the look "grows" on you. It's like a mantra to them now. And they're all sticking to their guns, which is admirable. But I know for a fact that I find the car absolutely nasty looking on the front end when compared to our old school cars. Those headlights were probably one of the worse design decisions made by Subaru in years. They're also the reason why the 2004 models are being completely redesigned as sales in Europe aren't happening for two reasons...

1. Europeans have a variety of nice and powerful turbo cars to choose from.

2. They don't like the look of the WRX.

Thus they are buying other cars.

Yeah the look grows on them so much that the SECOND they get it they're looking into buying body kits to make it look better. Even funnier...do a search on headlight mods. If you do check how many threads say

"make them look a lot better"

It's downright amusing to me =)

I totally respect the technical side of the WRX, IE the Function side. But the form side is really lacking in my opinion.

I think you've hit on something there. The look hasn't really grown on me and I have one sitting in my driveway (not mine). :)

The headlight mod does help....but it could use more help still. :)

I know, I know. I am in the minority because I like the way the new bodystyle looks, at least I like it if it has been lowered. The stock "off-roading, jeep jamboree" height is just not good. I just like the GC8 a lot more.

I actually think that it is a good looking car, but everyone is comparing it to its predecessor which is one of the best looking cars in history.

You think 1/2 the stuff we do to our cars is original? I bet other than a diy intake and 'custom' exhaust (like anyone designs their own...:rolleyes: ) most folks mods have been done b4...:curse:

I was just looking through that thread about "Best WRX Kits" I saw Alex's ride and had to laugh. Does anybody else see any resemblence to the VW Jetta in tFatF?

Not sure... I saw one pic of Alex's car and just about blew juice out my nose. I didn't bother looking at the rest. I'm sure he's got a lot of $$ and time into the thing, but I personally don't go for the look, and I don't care if he knows it. I appreciate the board for all the info I have personally gathered off of it, but I don't consider him an unapproachable god or anything. His poo stinks too. (And IMHO, so does his car.):stinky:
