Went with Paul from ECS to Bishop Tuning in CT today to get rid of my knock and squeeze a bit more power out of my car. I wasn't disappointed with the results!

Max HP: 306 HP @ 6250 RPM and 19psi
Max TQ: 275 lbft @ 5100 RPM

Pre-tune trace, note the trough from the knock @ 4500 RPM

After about 6-7 pulls and Paul's expertise, the final trace

Here's the AFR trace

Power Mods:
-JDM Version 7 STi motorset
-IHI VF34 turbo
-Perrin Inlet tube
-TurboXS intake/MAF adapter
-HKS catless downpipe
-HKS 3" Hi-Power Exhuast
-(I forget the name) manual boost control

Needless to say, the car now hauls ass.

If this is bowling, I would have done the impossible

This is just from memory (i've been buying stuff for this swap for over 2 years now)

Here's the breakdown:

Parts:
-Ver 7 STi engine w/ crossmember - 2900
-STi intercooler - 100
-WRX Wiring Harness - 300
-ACT Street Clutch - 450
-Power steering fluid lines - 50
-Intake+inlet tube - 150
-HKS Downpipe - 120
-HKS CBE - 280
-AVCS wiring kit - 150
-O2 sensors - 100
-WRX wagon FSB - 50
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump - 100
-WRX MAF - 50
-Power steering fluid reservoir - 15
-Manual boost controller - 90
-misc parts/lines - 50

Total - 4955:eek:

Labor:
ECS full swap including all AVCS labor+base tune (less RS25 discount) - ~2600 (your cost will vary ;))
ECS Protune by Paul - 399

All in all, it's not the cheapest build ever. But the engine is unique, and it puts down the power very well. Boost hits very early and stays there. The other facet of this is potential. Paul says the engine will hold about 380 to the wheels with stock head bolts and head gasket. With upgraded head gasket and head studs, it can go over 450 whp. This initial setup is only the beginning.
