How to adjust TPS?

2632 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Hondaslayer
What is the proper way to set or adjust the TPS on a 99rs.

I just moved it a little bit counter clock wise (looking at it from the passenger side of car).

After messing with it the flat spot from 3200-4000rpm is alot better now.

Thanks
Jeff

I believe the only "correct" way to do it is with a scan tool or multimeter, but as long as you don't get it too far off, the ECU hould be able to compensate.
Throttle positioning switch.

It is on the passenger side of the throttle body.

Thanks :)~
thanks for the explanation. what does it do?
This is a direct qoute from "the end wrench" ( a subaru tech magazine) Do not attempt to adjust the TPS. The machine we use to calibrate it costs alot more than your screwdriver. I think thats pretty much means dont touch.
