a week ago i bought a 2004 subaru impreza and the engine blew at 230000 km im wondering if the trans can handle a wrx turbo motor or if i should replace the trans too

The automatic transmissions are stronger thsn the manual omes from what Ive read, a stock WRX engine likely wouldnt be a problem but you'll have some additional wiring to do IIRC. It a ton easier to just sell the car and buy a WRX.
