Hello fellow members, we just wanted to get this message out on the homepage for those of you that know Brian:

It is with a heavy heart that I pass this news along to the community. The following is from Brian's wife Amy:

After much consideration, there's just no easy way to say this, so here goes... Brian and I have just endured the most painful week of our lives in these past four short days. When Brian went in for what we assumed was going to be a routine procedure, we had no idea that our whole world was about to be turned upside down. Four incredibly long, unbearable days later, after multiple tests, procedures, labs and specialist consultations, we have been given the outcome. He has an aggressive type of stage III cancer that will require urgent surgery followed by an intensive chemotherapy regimen. I want to break down and scream and cry and ask why, but I know there is no answer. For a man so young, who has already been through so much more than he ever should have, unfair doesn't even begin to describe the situation. We have a very difficult road lying before us, but we will travel it together. When you are weak, I will be your strength, when you are down, I will lift you up. When you feel like giving up, I will be your hope. You are loved so much more than I could EVER put into words Brian. You ARE a survivor and you have a world of things to fight for. I know you won't ever forget that. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the continued thoughts, prayers, love and support for our family. #HeartOfAHero #SurvivorsSurpassTheOdds

Our fellow member George.of.the.Jungle has been a contributing member here for the past 15 years, shooting the shit with us, offering up killer rs25 clothing lines, and most importantly he has been a good friend to so many of us.

If you are able to help, please support our fellow esteemed Brother in his time of need.

Additional info from Facebook:

By now, most of you have heard that Brian and Amy have already started fighting a battle that no one should ever have to face. I think I speak for pretty much everyone when I say that they are not in this alone. They have received multiple offers for help with the kids and meals which they are extremely grateful for. They are also going to need support on the cost side as well. I have ordered bracelets to use as a fundraising effort to help them as much as we can, at least take one thing off their plate while they go through this fight.

Bracelets are $5 each, or more if you can, every little bit will do so much.

Once the bracelets come in, I will give an update on dates and places to get them.

For those of you who may be too far, you can send donations via paypal- [email protected] (send as a gift), [email protected] (please include your address so that I know where to send bracelet), or if you don't have paypal or venmo, we can give you an address to send to.
Thank ya'll for your support! #aherois

Brian, you're not alone through any of this. We're here to stand with you. Keep fighting good sir.

We'll keep you and your family in our prayers. Its during times like this when we have to be ready for the worst. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. James 4:8. We must surrender our pains, cares, and everything to Him because he's our only hope. Jesus said I am Way, the Truth, and the Light, no one comes to the Father but through me. I hope this will bring comfort to you and your family. God bless you guys!

Thanks for posting this up. I have been coming into rs.25 for around ten years for information and knowledge and though we may have never had any communication' I have definitely benefited from George.of.the.jungle's contributions. Send him my good wishes and my thanks for sharing his knowledge all these years.

An update from Brian's wife from Facebook:

As we have been flooded with requests on updates and just can't keep up with responses, I thought I should just make a post on Brian's behalf. Yesterday was an incredibly long, difficult day. We arrived for surgery at 1 pm and literally after over double the amount of time we were told the procedure would potentially take, he was out of surgery a bit after 8 pm. He had a very difficult night unfortunately due to uncontrolled pain. Secondary to high CO2 levels, they felt his respiratory status was too unstable to give additional pain meds (opioids at least) post surgery. The length of the procedure was highly influenced by yet again, the extreme size of the mass, location and the fact that secondary to near obstruction, he had an incomplete bowel prep. When the surgeon made rounds this morning, we were shocked yet again. The cancer did not only include the colon and adjacent lymph nodes, but had gone through the wall and attached to the bladder. He had an area of the right upper bladder 'shaved' and MD says he is happy with the margins at this time. A repeat colonoscopy will be necessary after recovery to rule out further smaller malignancies (not potentially visible on imaging) due to his incomplete surgical prep. BUT, he made it through the main surgery, he is in the process of recovering (we will worry about any additional needed surgery at a later date) and he is off to kick chemo's ass! Hang in there handsome, you're doing great
xoxo

Brian was there when Tyler Slak (TSLAK), another RS25 member, passed away from cancer...He and I organized the memorial sticker/decal for Tyler. Brian collected the funds and distributed the decals...A stand up guy and member to the community. You and your family we be in my prayers Brian. Stay strong brother!

Hey Brian,

I met you in SC when I drove down to pick up a V5 STi drivetrain from you. It was really good to meet you and can't wait to see you back on your feet

Wow I'm seriously shocked.

I don't know Brian, and I'm really more of a lurker than poster here, but I think I've read every thread on this forum at least twice and George(Brian) has given me a TON of valuable information and some good chuckles as well.

Just wanted to say thanks from a longtime lurker and let you know you'll definitely be in my prayers. Keep your joy and sense of humor and trust in God to see you through.

I've been on the forum for a good number of years now and I can recall many times Brian would contribute and not belittle my lack of knowledge. You are a stellar gentleman and I wish you nothing but the ultimate strength to get through this. Keep ya head up champ - Don't give up!

A few years ago, I was active in this site. Like way too active, like almost unhealthy. I like to think of myself as sort of an "OG", but its really not that big of deal (it is). I started making n00b posts back when speaking l33t and dropping dank memes was still underground. I remember back when ricanlink (??) started stealing entire STi motors from the cars in the dealership. I was bright eyed and bushy tailed, and then I met Brain George.

We all (South East) members met up in Winston Salem NC for go carting and drinks which was a memorable experience. Not sure why they let us operate go carts after drinking so much, but it was whatever. WCUrs, BOOTleg, Boosted2.5, Shortbus, GotJ, and I all became friends quickly.

A year later his (GotJ) daughter passed away. I organized a fundraiser to help, and this community rallied like a motherfucker. I think i took in 1k overnight, and the end of the drive we gave about 2.3k to Brian and his family. We even donated a Star in her name and had it framed. It was pretty hokey shit, but Brian meant a lot to me and the community.

I'm writing this because I've lost contact with this community (occasional lurker, hi). But I'm moved that the gusto of you all is still here. Brian, you're probably the biggest asshole i've ever had the privilege of calling a friend. I hope you get well soon, and message me when you get the chance. Feel well soon, bud.

Let me know how i get one of those sweet bracelets. My livestrong one just wore out.
