I was thinking of putting a clear rubber material over the door handle and then opening and closing my door with it. Think that'd stop the electrocutions?

Get a can of Static Guard and spray your seats and carpets. It always worked for me in my truck before I sold it. I've never been shocked by my Sub though.

Why would that stop electric shocks? Do you close the door by the door handle? I either A) park on grass (at home) B) use an elbow against the glass or C) touch the frame with a key to ground myself. That's about the easiest and cheapeast ways to avoid it :)

I would close the door by the handle if it was rubber. ;) Oh yea, almost forgot about keychains. I need to go to Japantown and get one of those anti shock keychain thingies. I had one of those strips that dragged on the floor but that didn't work for some reason! :curse:

Try this:
when you have stopped your car , open the door
this step is crucial, do not place your feet on the ground yet
grab on to the window edge then place your feet on the ground.
I have been getting shock therapy for years from my RS. Sometimes it felt like I had been hit with a stun gun it was so strong. Then one night I grabbed on to the edge of the drivers door window before putting my feet on the ground and to my surprise there was no shock. The down side to it is I don't usually remember to do it.

I just close the door by the rubber/plastic whatever between the paint and the window on the door, no good cunductive materials there and I don't get fingerprints on the paint or window.

I hate it. I found that if I hold the door handle when I open the door, slide across the seat (which generates all the electricity as far as I can tell) and then step out it's not as bad. Sometimes. :curse:

Im not the only one!!!

Damn i always get shocked getting out of my car. Its so bad i get nervous everytime i have to open a door at work. So when i get out of my car i hold my keys by the metal part and touch the body of my car with it. I hear a click click click. Then the static is gone. I hate it i want to be able to open a door with no fear! Ill try that static gaurd thing.
