Yes, it's true. I am the proud owner of a 1985 Corolla GTS hatchback, and now a 1986 Corolla GTS notchback! Hatchback still doesn't run, but the new one is bone stock perfect and even straight with original alloy wheels! Too bad I don't get to drive it till after SEMA. The owner of the WRX I sponsor didn't have a second car, so he is driving it while we put the WRC bodykit on his WRX. I did get to drift it once before giving it to him. Very different from 4wd drifting.

I've heard its a very versatile chassis. You can do lots with it. Keep it mildly tuned for a docile, fun drifting car. Make it insanely quick with a variety of motor swaps. Ones that come to mind: S2K drivetrain, 13B from Rx7 or even better 3-rotor from the Cosmo, Sr20DET. Just straight sickness. I've been looking for a good clean chassis for a while now. guess i'm just not lucky enough.

Actually. Desu = des. "des" is usually how it's pronounces, but written, it's written "desu". Some females will pronounce the "u" ever so slightly. I think if a guy ever did that, he'd be punched. ... or hit on ;)

For now I'm just leaving in the motor I have. I've already done a cat. back using a BPM system from a WRX and i've made a quickee intake for it. If I have to do any trans work I WILL convert it to RWD. As it is I think it is as fast as my GC8. Just wait till I take the rest of the weight off of it...................and of cource get a drivers door.
