Got the headgasket blues...

Well, heres the skinny, i got oil and coolant all over the bottom of my engine and crossmember, but the headgaksets have the "mud" looking buildup a little on em, but nothing wet. My coolant level is perfect, my oil is low. Its not coming out the exhaust, so its not being burnt, its leaking. I have no doubt its the headgaskets cause theyre original, 154k miles on em, lol... And the bad part is that i have to drive from new york to ohio tomorrow to go to college. When i drive for a bit, then stop, i can smell a burning smell, and little puffs of white smoke. The headgakets look ok, not coming apart or broken or anything. Im stuck here. Should i bring some oil, water, and JB weld tomorrow, haha?

I have the headgasket blues too... I am losing coolant and overheating. Luckily I have a short drive to work...
Im not overheating, but every onces and a while the car will backfire, or hiccup. SOunds like when you open a bottle of coke, but louder. I have 2 1/2 motors sitting around, just waiting to get a custom harness and standalone done, what will it cost me parts and time wise to do headgaskets, i have no problem doing them, i just need to get out there tomorrow.
It'll probably take less than a day to do it if you know what you're doing. Do a search and you'll find all the stuff you need for the job.

Thanks Supers, ill do it in the car when i get out there, what do you think a few hours at most? Is there anything i can do to get it out to ohio tomorrow safely?
Bring a couple quarts of oil and a gallon of premixed coolant with you. Keep an eye on your gauges and an ear on any abnormal sounds. Whereabouts in Ohio are you going? I'm bicycle distance from I90 and driving distance from I80(turnpike) east of Cleveland. If you get in a jam, contact me. PM me for contact info.
Well i made it, not a hiccup all day. Car ran smooth, didnt even leak anything, the underside of the car is as dry as i left it yesterday, that either means that i fixed it, or it ran out of oil to leak, lol. But all the fluids are good. Anyone around the I77-I80 junction see me slide off the on-ramp?, haha.
Take two days off to do them. Just to be safe.
Ill probably do em, just not within the next 2-3 weeks. Maybe if i get a long weekend ill do em, i gotta get my turbo motors shipped out here, lol.
