Hi all. I'm looking for guidance on
what to do for my suspension set up on my gc with full 06 sti swap. Sub frames spindles etc.

I've spent hours reading threads without finding a clear direction.

I put the stock 05 sti suspension in and car was sitting very high, 3.5 inch wheel gap in the rear and 3 up front. I wasnt overly surprised by this as the gd weighs more but had read others run this set up and the pics I saw showed wheel gap I could live with. Other posts i read said running lowering springs so I picked up some sti pink springs and those actually raised the car another .25...

I believe from what I've read I could run gc rear shocks but not in the front due to the 5x114 spindle.

Is the best option gd coilovers with gc chamber plates up front or is there a shock spring combo that could work?

Appreciate any help.

I am currently running 04 STI struts and GC-specific prodrive springs. It lowers the car a small amount, the ride quality is smooth and handling is drastically better than stock.

What is your tire size? I'm running the stock RS size for my winter set. 205/55/R16.

Thanks for the responses.

I am pretty sure they are jdm pink springs. I picked them up used. They have the orginal white sti logo and white dots. They have certainly raised the car though. These are on 05 usdm shocks.

How do the pink lowering springs even work? I put them side by side with the oem springs and they are the same length. Since they were the same length with a stiffer spring rate it makes senses its higher. Should the pink springs be shorter? Are lowering springs normally shorter then the oem spring or is it the spring rate that lowers the car? I don't have any experience using springs I've only used coils on my previous cars but I really want an oem like ride I'm not building a track car.

Mike your cars height is what I'm after. I was hoping these pink springs would do the same. I haven't driven the car to let it settle but I can't see it changing over 2 inches.

I have 18inch rims. I've tried putting the car down with all the suspension mounts loose and it still sits at the same height.

should I try another set of lowering springs?

That ride height is crazy! I experienced that with the 04 struts and aftermarket GD Impreza springs.

My buddy ran GD Sti struts and GD H&R lowering springs and had a similar ride height to mine.

Tell me about it! It's a monster truck lol.

I was trying to find the gc pro drive lowering springs you mentioned but no luck there are others available like Eibach.

So with the 04 strut and gc springs I'm assuming your running a gc rear top hat correct? Do the fronts just swap over. Do you think the length is the same between 04 and 05 sti shocks it's only the front spindle mount that changes?

Eibach makes the prodrive springs iirc.

I'm running GC Top hats in the front and rear. I know the GD ones work in the front, but I think the GD ones made my car higher.

04-07 STI JDM pinks have a light blue dot on them.

You need to drive and let them settle.

BC racing makes a coilover set for are gc/sti setup. It is what i have on my 04;05 gc swap sti.
Thanks for letting me know. After all the searching I've done that seems like the correct solution. They would be the gc coil over with gd 5x114 lower shock mounts. I was planning to talk to companies to see if they could make a custom set like that so it's good to bc has done this before.
