:sunny: Anybody out here have any reviews on the Ganzflow CAI for 99 RS's with the PRM filter?? Just wondering if it works okay or if there have been any MAF associated problems with it. I'm thinking of buying it, but if it doesn't work or blows out the MAF, I'm probably just ging to go with the snorkus removal. Thanks in advance for any info anyone has!!!:D :D :D

i would be interested in your opinion of the snorkus removed performance. i removed mine and was initially quite happy then the problems began..... hesitation between 3400 and 4000 rpm. i put the snorkus back on and the engine seemed smoother but still had the hesitation. now several months later the hesitation comes and gos but in but is mostly gone. some people think the snorkus 'straightens' the air before it hits the maf. any way i am still confused about the whole issue. i may still take my snorkus off again and see what happens. good luck

I took off snorkus on my '99 well over a year ago and noticed some improvement, plus better sound. I've had no problem with hesitation. About a month ago I replaced the primary air filter with a custom MAF adaptor and shielded cone filter. Noticed better acceleration and punchier low end. No problems so far, the MAF is boltedcdown quite tightly. About two weeks ago I purchased the MRT vent scoop (for the right side vent) from Dale Teague- the air filter sits just below it, so scoop is actually functional. I just plug it if expecting any significant rain or carwash. Looks cools, seems to help a bit as well. I like Larry's design and would have gone with his CAI if I didn't have my setup already. Hes a good guy and makes some really nice stuff.

I've got Larry Ganz's setup. It's superb. No hesitation problems at all. No MAF problems at all. No Check Engine light. No problems whatsoever. Plus, he's a nice guy, doesn't sell junk, and will actually email you back, unlike most vendors I've dealt with. This is the CAI to go with if you have a NA MY99.

Thanks for the info guys!!:)

fab9joe - I noticed hesitation on my car like you mention when the plugs were shot. I replaced them with the NGK's listed in the owner's manual and the problem went away. If you still have the original plugs in the car I would suggest trying changing them out for the NGK's. The OEM plugs are Champions and most people will tell you they aren't that great.

phierce - I'm not aware that Cobb makes a CAI for the 99 RS. The 99 RS uses a MAF sensor that the 00-01 cars don't. If Cobb does make a MAF friendly CAI for the 99 RS, let me know where I can find it please.

There is a guy on the board that cut a Cobb all up and made it fit on the MY99 I have been thinking about doing this as well. Looks good other than a big black MAF sensor in the middle of the intake.
Hey, that's me! ;)
