I just bought a drain valve, and have been hesitant until this problem was resolved. Thanks a bunch!

Hmmm...that's nice info to have. I've got the Fumoto valve on my car but haven't "used" it yet (I installed it with my last oil change).

I wouldn't let this minor problem prevent anyone from getting the valve. It's super handy. At first I used a hack saw to make a notch which I think will work fine too. But I came across my small rat tail file I used that . 5 min job tops. If you can't do either of these things just use the fiber washer and a crush washer and that will help.

Is it that big of a problem? Seems kind of minor to me, it's only keeping a little bit of the old oil.

I agree, if you change the oil often like every 3-5k it shouldn't be all that big a deal. Still the more dirty oil you get out the better.

Now if we only knew how much oil to put in...

I HATE MY DIPSTICK...its always wacky....

Just to save the bandwidth...

I park level, I wipe it down, I have waited (overnicht) in some cases for the oil to drain.

Still shows like its too much...when I know its right...
